I don't think she's racist, but labeling this video as "Asian eyes" is ignorant and stereotyping. The actual term to describe eyes with no crease or the appearance of a single eyelid is known as "Epicanthic Fold". Asians are not the only ones who have it, nor do all Asians have it. I think what people are saying is that by using the label of "Asian" eyes you're perpetuating a stereotype. It be like labeling a video tutorial for "African Noses/Lips/Hair" when it could be just big and curly lol

The woman in this video basically perpetuated stereotypes. Asians are not the only ones with "monolids" nor do they all have monolids. A lot of Asian YT gurus don't even have "monolids". Matter of fact, I've met many Hispanics and Native Americans who have monolids and even Blacks. This video also fails because you yourself do not even have MONOLIDS. What's next? Whitening creams for Blacks and Brown? Just because you didn't mean to be racist or ignorant, doesn't mean you didn't come off as one.

ive seen so many videos by these girls that jus say "ASIAN EYES" but no one gives them shit cause they're asian.

if an african person says "nigger" people are perfectly fine with it, but when a white person says it, he gets his ass kicked..

and you really cant deny that a great majority asian descent have monolids.. and even if they do have a fold, they probably don't have a socket line, that's for sure...

@TheHispanicFilipino I don't think it's racist or perpetuating stereotypes - which is what she said. I found it really helpful as a makeup artist to beautify "non-western" shaped eyes.

dude its not racist. im asian and i have monolids. it's just more likely that an asian would have monolids. if this video was called "epicanthic fold" not very many people would click on it because they don't know what that means

there was no racism intended in this video. it's a video about makeup for god's sake. but for the person who spoke of "Whitening creams for Blacks and Brown?", there is no "black" nor "brown" race. THAT stereotype is based on a label meant to identify the color of on's skin.

i dont understand how this tutorial is going to help me.....bc ur just applying eyeshadow to your own face. u don't have monolids, so.....yea not much help other than knowing that green and pink can look nice together

I agree with her that single/monolid happens more on Asians. I am asian and I have monolid, but i dont think she's racist. :)
