Arsonists destroyed the 140 year old Gudgeonville Covered Bridge in Girard Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania. West County firefighters made a good stop, but the bridge is too heavily damaged to be salvaged. If you have information as to the responsible parties, please contact the Pennsylvania State Police at (814) 774-9611. Special thanks go out to the Platea Volunteer Fire Co, the A.F. Dobler Hose and Ladder Co, and all the mutual aid departments that did their best to save this structure.

It looks so sad and lonely... But it's not forgotten.

  • why do people have to be like that? I was infuriated when i heard of the fire. I wish the cowards who set the blaze would own up to it. bunch of pussies...

  • wow, there is no place or any type of power source to get a survaillence(spelling) camera to catch them arsonists to pay for what they did to the landmark... damn thats sad

  • that sucks so bad! i live so close to it and i never once saw it in person...

  • ....Well that sucks.

  • This just does not make any sense to me. I am glad I at least got to see it before it was destroyed. I hope whoever did this is caught and held responsible. I really want to hear thier plan to pay for for rebuilding it.

How about we fire bomb their house and see how they like it.
