@pats14fann01 WXNE 25 Boston ran from 1977 to 1987. It's a shame too. I will always miss WBZ/NBC. Boston TV news has gone to the dogs, but good.

Sunbeam and its WHDH/WSVN are the Evil Empire. The company is largely responsible for prompting the transformation of many local news broadcasts into a fast-paced "show" that is light on substance and heavy on style.
In the matter of Sunbeam's acquisition of WLVI, they are not really to blame. It was the Tribune Company that made the decision to sell Channel 56 to Ed Ansin.
