  • Hi Heidi - Had to watch your vids again and now I'm getting impatient for your next one...:)

BTW, Perschetti - "Make Me Drunken With Deep Red Torrents of Joy"...Gawd what a wild title ! Where did he come up with that ? Great piece !

  • Thanks, how kind. Persichetti's poems are all based on works by famous poets. "Make me drunken..." is from a poem by John Gould Fletcher.

  • Heidi -- I meant "deceptively easy" wrt the Debussy! Age creeping up!

    Best, Bob Ekelund

  • Thanks so much for the encouragement! I loved hearing your Opus 10 #1 -- a very fine performance!

  • Heidi, you are really good! As a former piano major I can sure see and hear your talent! One suggestion - in the Beethoven, just after the octave intro, I think the next section was too fast. It went by at such a rapid tempo that it felt rushed - even though you pulled it off technically well. Good luck.

  • Point taken. Thanks for the feedback. I feel that too often the movement is played allegro instead of presto, as marked . . .I probably got a bit carried away as a result! Thanks for listening.

  • Persichetti sounds atonal, Debussy quite mysterious and Beethoven is creative force standing against adversity; you play them very well ♪

  • You are fantastic! Really enjoyed your videos. Your phrasing and articulation are to be admired.

  • @hbasarab Interesting. I guess that kind of fits the crazy mood then. Anyways..Bravo !

  • If I had a nice piano and a beautiful large hall I would invite you for the performance of the year.

You remember me that I need to continue to love music yet you make me fall in love with you also.

And there is no contradiction involved

I dont have enough gracious words to return you in exchange for my experience here

    Honest compliments!

    Thank You! Heidi

  • Persechetti--WOW! I'm sad that we don't hear these performed more and you really pulled it off. Incredible clarity.

Debussy--very nice. Needs a little more "distance" and obscurity in parts.

Beethoven--Such great technique and fire--really beethovenesque. A little over-pedaled in spots but otherwise WOW!

  • Bravo

  • I added this to my favs list several months ago and just listened/watched again. I still love it - especially how you didn't play the same lterature that so many others do. You took the musical road less-traveled and exposed people to some different pieces.

BTW, I'm hunting for a new grand piano and yours sounds wonderful ! What kind of is it ?
