  • Guess what people; The Great Depression is over! Welfare/public housing is supposed to be a stepping stone not a permanent lifestyle! Education is the key to eliminating poverty. Christine Lee said she'd lived there her whole life. Does she not aspire to go get a nice house/apartment? I'm guessing if you live in pulic housing; grants would be as easy to obtain as "Gubbermint cheez"!! Go to school and strive to make something of yourself. Have some pride and become independent! Get off welfare!

  • So after eighty years the government finally realizes that gathering all the city's poverty into isolated neighborhoods was a bad idea? Bullshit. Either the government is incredibly slow and stupid, there is an ulterior motive involved, or both.

  • @Abasuto - Projects breed isolation and concentrated poverty moron. People live in and die in the projects because of neglect and crime. People aspire to what they see on a daily basis, whether white/black rich/poor, all children want to be the best of what they see in their neighborhoods. It's a relative model. The "best people" in the place you grew up were bankers/accountants/wealthy working Americans. The best these kids see are hustlers, and they don't work 40hr/wk jobs.

  • Don't come to my neighborhood we like our property values where they are.

  • Don't be so ignorant. You sound like a prevlige person, not all have had silver spoon in their mouth. don't pass judgement. Just about everyone in this world is one step from poverty. You have not walked in this woman shoes so you have no idea of her wants, desire and needs

If you d the history, you will find out who excatly the projects was orignated for.

  • @beagleguy69 nice . u go to school and then u come out and there are no jobs. and ur back in the bricks

  • Something like 75% of the residents in Atlanta's oldest housing projects had been there for 10 years or longer.

You mean to tell me in 10 years you could not find a 40 hour job ?

The only "project" in them is an experiment to breed human leeches and parasites and as we can see, it worked.

  • bullshit.... they want to put worthless lazy fucking people in with the working class. All these people do is just bring down the property value and breed crime.

  • @Modacolorist not where bowen homes was ....that's not in a high property value area, trust me

  • @beagleguy69 ! Welfare/public housing is supposed to be a stepping stone not a permanent lifestyle

please say it again. a temporary solution when you are going through hard times...u are NOT supposed to be there for years on end...come on now. the problem, to me, is that it's not even a location problem, it's a mindset problem
