You don't piss off a Park Ranger that's for sure. Jordan is such a inspiration for us all he really went through Hell and back to get his health back. I am sad that Lyme took everything away from him and i feel they owe him an apology for their ignorance. So many of us can relate to his story, i just hope one day soon things change for the better for us Lymies that we get the respect we deserve for being sick with an awful, cruel Disease

I don't think there is always necessarily a motive. Some doctor's are just very badly educated and misinformed on it. There is also money to consider. Lupus treatments are very expensive, and there is considered to be no cure for it. . .so that means you spend the remainder of your life paying for those expensive treatments and meds vs. getting cured and no longer needing a doctor. My doctor very openly admitted some of his colleagues are more money hungry than concerned about wellness

@ilovewillf 60 plus doctors the medically field is abandoning this. This is a holocost and I personally want an answer to why some are loosing their licenses who treat this? WHY?

This is an attrosity, Come on now doctors ,if people can research this out then why can't the medical field do it? My applause to the doctors who take this serious and try to treat it. When will the rest follow. This is like an aids epidemic. SICKENING,

Of course we have our share of incompetent doctors in Scandinavia as well, but most of them are aware that this is a serious and real disease. Why would the first doctor not believe it? What would the motive be?

Anyway I'm very glad to hear you're getting better!

Where I live, lyme doesn't officially "exist", so docs will not even consider it. I was diagnosed with lupus, ehler's danlos, rheumatoid arthritis, etc, before finally getting diagnosed and treated for lyme by a (rare) doc in my area who is firmly against the imaginary disease boundaries most docs live by. He also doesn't really believe in lupus, and was firmly against my one diagnosis, and asked me to try lyme treatment. Lo and behold, I'm finally getting better now!

My dad is Jordan Fisher- Smith in the movie, Lyme disease drags everyone into it, family friends. I couldn't play with him when I was a little kid because he was so sick. The disease took away his job, his health, and my childhood with him.

Stop Lyme or everyone will feel it's devastation!

That must be some pretty crappy doctors. It's a relatively common disease, why would people make it up? and why would doctors say that they make it up?

That would be true for some Drs. but probably not the majority.

Most of them have been misinformed from using guidelines that were written by Drs. with an agenda. IDSA and others.

By following these guidelines the Dr covers his/her butt. Many use the two tier testing which means tier 1 ELISA will miss 60-70 percent of people with lyme.

If they skip ELISA and go straight to WB test they will catch more (not all) lyme but then may have fears of repercussions.
