Actually I politely disagree... George W. Bush was the worst Republican President... EVER.

In fact, I predict that he was so bad, that he put the final nail in the Republican coffin.

I do agree that Lincoln was the best (in fact, he was the first Republican, before that it was the Democrats and the Whigs).

The Republican Party has lost touch with it's own ideals. They either need to reinvent themselves, or simply fade into obscurity. However, I bet $50 they run Palin in 2012

The two parties switched sides on the political spectrum starting with Barry Goldwater, although the Republicans will still sometimes say they are the party that freed the slaves, but that is misleading for the reason I just explained

@navamerican War was not just abolish slavery & Lincoln had supported the fugitive slave act & because Abolishionists were giving him problems he made freeing the slaves more a part of his plan his original argument was that preserving the union was his main goal not freeing the slaves. Burnt farms less food to eat.There were plenty of nonconfederates killed including many slaves and freed men. Mostly republicans in congress not Democrates passed civil rights act. So learn history okay.
