@DDRUTOU Most cartoons from the '80s had longer intros all over the world. Commercial breaks were also shorter. Now it's the other way around, in the U.S., anyway.
Seriously, look up the opening and closing from Le Mondes Engloutis; they take up like 6 or 7 total minutes of a 30-minute show.
