John and Dana of Frrequency555.com visited Sirius Ecovillage in Shutesbury, Massachusetts. Sirius was founded in 1978 by former members of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland, which is now the Hub for the Global Ecovillage Network. The community was developed on 90 acres of land which was at one time considered sacred grounds for the local Native American tribes. The community is focused around environmental sustainability, intentional community development, spiritual cultivation, and non-profit education.
Sirius Ecovillage strives to minimize their footprint on the earth and in working to achieve this have implemented solar and wind power generation, practice organic gardening and permaculture, and recycle not only day-to-day waste, but also clothing, building materials, grey water, and even human excrement through the use of composting toilets.
The community members are open spiritually; however, a sense of community spiritualism permeates throughout Sirius. The community members practice various techniques such yoga, Qigong, meditation, and others in an attempt to fully realize our connection to the Earth and Universe in which we reside.
Sirius offers work exchange and study abroad opportunities for University credit and welcomes visitors of all ages to come and experience the ecovillage lifestyle for themselves.

I've been there, and it is truly amazing! One of my best friends has lived there almost all her life. I visited her over the summer and spent one day and night at her house, and we took a tour around the community. The community is so special, the houses are lovely and the land is so beautiful, especially the forest. And the whole atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. :)
