There is a lot of debate as to when The Attitude Era began. Many people point to this as a turning point. People look at Austin, getting over at WM 13 as the beginning. Some people look at Hart's blasting The USa, and turning heel as the beginning.
Personally, to me it started earlier in 1996 at KOR when Austin made his LEGENDARY speech after beating Jake The Snake. The birth of Austin 3:16, in my opinion started the Attitude Era.

WWF was way more entertaining than WCW. Their programming was way more diverse than WCW's. WWF used characters rather than real names which made it more entertaining. Also, WWF announcers made it even more entertaining compare to WCW announcers

Maybe some good competition from the outside is what they need now days. How long can they keep going bringing back all the guys from the past? How long is it going to be before some way some how they have an austin, rock wrestlemania re match for the title belt? On a serious note, Back when bob backlund attacked jim ross, that was one memorable event that got everyone looking. It was real looking. When it looks real people hear about it and watch.
