that is exactly what she is saying. you do not fear death because of your religion. your religion makes you feel better about the inevitable event of death. this is one of the core purposes of religion - not to know the truth but to make you feel better about what will come after death. (this is not the only purpose, of course, but the one you mentioned so clearly).
