@AliciaDupres I agree! It works really well.

@StrawberryMoose I guess that nobody saw that gesture before. Usually Tosca aproves by a slight head movement. However, that gesture was actually a cool idea!

Before watching this video I thought Caballe was just a good singer, but here she performs very well. She's so dramatic and her voice... She's Great!

You are absolutely right. That is very unusual and gives me a different opinion of Tosca. She just seems to have other traits within her character, which are not shown by other singers. Very nice. It also suits to her singing and whole interpretation of Tosca. She is a very weak, tender Tosca. Great performance.

Can all who critize her find such an universal voice with such a long and succesfull carrier now ? Full featured succesor of Maria Callas in her universality.
Bel canto, Donizetti, Bellini, but great Tosca, Turandot and Salome too. One of the greatist singers.

Agreed. I have this video and she's on fire throughout....

Caballe was even better when performing inopera as you can see here.
What a voice & she's not a bad actress despite what the crtics said about her
Whoa, does she actually pat Scarpia's cheek after the "Ebbene?"? That's such a surprising gesture considering the context, I don't think I've ever seen that before.
Thanks for posting this! Excellent singing!

I have seen personally Juan Pons two times in Bogotá during the Opera seasons with Elena Baggiore in 1980 and Norma Fantini in 1996, representing their roles in this opera. Finally I can say Mr. Pons is a terrific opera singer.
