In an era when politics and social discourse are pervaded by fear, it's time for a rational, light-hearted look at government anti-smoking propaganda and laws - time to defend common sense and liberty.

  • Good video. I smoke and I can tell the difference it makes in my health. I hack and cough when I wake up. But I wont force anyone NOT to smoke around me if I can quit. That's not right. As much as I'd want a smoke. I'm trying to quit, not doing very well though :( very addicted

  • Good for you. Tolerance is a greater virtue than non-smoking, IMHO. I was a chain smoker (3-4 packs a day) and worked for a decade to get down to one pack per day.

I enjoy my cigarettes more smoking fewer, and that's a plus. Takes time to work back to fewer smokes, but it can be done. And it's not a lot different than quitting. My own doctor conceded as much. Moderation in all things.... as they say.

    :-)

  • Propaganda that promises any kind of certainty is pure junk science. Anyone might get lung cancer, smokers might live to be 100. My mother never smoked a cigarette in her life and died of lung cancer in her 60s. Her older sister my aunt, was a chain smoker from the age of 17 until she died of old age at 93.

Using the "logic of certainty," you better smoke or you'll die of lung cancer.

  • So true DiddleySquat. And with the western world facing the worst financial meltdown since the great depression, the legislators should be saving their limited budgets for the essentials, rather than pandering to the demands of the anti smokers and squandering money policing bans that are only adding to the financial crisis.

  • Damn Right! Not to mention putting struggling eateries and pubs and bars on the road to bankruptcy by excluding smokers!

  • Excellent points! There's something so puritanical about the antis. Most non-smokers are okay with it, from what I've seen. But a lot of those that scream bloody murder if somebody lights up are really ex-smokers who still want to smoke and fear falling off the wagon. Or at least that's as it seems to me.

And to those people I join you in saying: GET THE HELL OVER IT!

  • @DiddleySquatt Been around smokers since I was born, (even my mother smoked while pregnant w/me.) Started smoking at 16, I'm 52 now & after reading your comment? Plan on living another 52 years enjoying my cigarettes! :)

  • The stats actually show that quitting causes a flagrant increase in heart attacks and other illnesses.

also, the anti-smoking stats are mostly all bogus, ignore numerous studies that show the contrary, made up or very unscientifical.

also, it is a proven fact that passive smoking does not cause cancer in others. Often times, the smokers even had less cancer then the non smokers. Which they had to try and camouflage some way.

The also had the darnest time trying to induce cancer in mice

  • great video!

  • Fantastic Video just wish it could go viral. Maybe if people who see this video would embed it in their blogs or on forums and link to it on smoking ban comments sections of news articles. Possibly to a re-release and add in some info on how the ban is a failure as smoking rates have actually gone up. Why because the anti-smokers have made smoking cool again. This video could be in the comments sections of those news articles. Don't forget facebook and tweeting.

  • Nice video!! =)

And to thegirl44 - LOL I would have said the SAME THING!!

  • to Andalpha: smoking is no more stupid than hang gliding, driving a motorcycle, driving a car without seatbelts or unprotected sex

  • DidleySquat: I have been an off and on smoker for 30 years....at one time stopped for ten years. I have no illusions about the dangers of smoking.....but....my late father never smoked in his life.....he died at 83 years old.....his sister was a chain smoker most of her life till she died....she died at 83 years old as well. My great aunt on my dads side was a life long smoker....she died at 93. I really think it has alot to do with genetics and your immune system

  • ..and something more....when u quit smoking u 'll discover how ..strong u r in ..bed :P:P))

  • smokers talk abt their "right to smoke" well my right to breath has priority, right quys ??:))

  • hahahaha good question! well quess wht...: my health is not so..good due to that idiot habit ! Is it enought reason ?? :)
