Shaukat Ali Khan is a Pakistani folk singer, well educated in modern education as well as music. He is the younger brother of Ustad Inayat Ali Khan, another famous fanqaar of Indian Subcontinent. Born into a family of artists in Malakwal, Ali began singing while at college in the 1960s, receiving help from his elder brother Inayat Ali Khan. Since 1970 he has performed ghazals and Punjabi folk songs and given countless hits like Jagga, Challa , kadi te has bol, teri lal parandi, etc etc. He gave a live performance at the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, and is a very popular singer on both sides of border. He has been awarded the highest Pakistani civilian Presidential award. His song "Kadi te Has Bol Ve" was used in the movie "Love Aaj Kal". His son Imran Shaukat is following in his footsteps. This presentation is created and Uploaded as a dedication to Ustad Shaukat Ali Khan and for the music connoisseurs of Indian subcontinent. This is my humble effort to rekindle the common musical and cultural flame of an eternally common spirit of music that binds the people of Indian subcontinent and our world at large, in spite of it's political boundaries. Most humbly yours...... Balwant Gurunay.
