My favorite Takeshi Kitano film. Dolls goes away from the action side of Kitano and brings out a lovely romance in the vein of his earlier film A Scene at the Sea. The film explores three intertwined relationships. Bound by a long red red cord, a young couple wanders in search of something they have tragically lost. An aging yakuza boss mysteriously returns to the park where he once met his long-past girlfriend. A disfigured pop star confronts the phenomenal devotion of her biggest fan. A great Kitano film

this movie was awful. the story was a random vomit and mixture of storys. The first 30 minutes were incredibly non intriguing. most papers in school are suppose to have an attention getter, the first time this happens in this movie is around the 40 minute mark with a scorsese ripped scene from departed. Other than that, this movie is a downward shit hole that resembles a toilet. i've never slept during a film or walked out. this was the first for both ocasions. im a cinema lover, but this sucks.
Takeshi Kitano's movies are different, unique which makes them better than others...But sadly,I think they aren't made for the masses. Not everyone can understand and value them for what they really are-a form of art...
i just can't understand why masses don't value this movie? Because they don't want to bother with art? Because they can't understand what pure love should be? this movie is damn insane. It's the best movie about love i have ever seen.

I don't think every works of art like this should be
the same as academic writings...
They shouldn't be.
