Actually, the original Katherine K. Davis lyrics were "ox and lamb kept time". "The ox and ass kept time" is a variation recorded by the The Trapp Family Singers. This choir must be using that version.

BRAVO!

i liked johny cashs version, but this is very soothing for the ears.

I love it! I'm going to drive my boyfriend crazy listening to this :)

i thought it was a picture! :p

It's just one of those lines that gets changed from place to place depending on tastes. I would imagine the original lyrics written did say "ox and ass" which has a bit of a ring to it musically, but can sound vulgar out of context.

Great : ) putting it as my ring-tone..jk

This rendition grates on the ears and is an attempt by the choirmaster to show that by speeding up things that they sound more with it. I think it sounds like cats shrieking on a hot tin roof. Musical ...it is not.....not for the cognoscenti. In a word it is the "Crucifixion" of what was written as a gentle and meaningful song. One out of ten......and that is being generous!

im 9 and my choir does better than that! no offense though. your still good
