It is so interesting that this only has 2000 views. It just shows that Springteen never reached that mega popularity and famed that other acts did. Springsteen and the E Street Band appeals to the intellectuals, the artists, the philosophers of the world. Next to Born in the USA, Hungry Heart is probably one of his most pop culture songs. I think it made it into the top 10 of the billboard charts. Springsteen is not billboard charts.

@mjmcc4r7 Melissa Etherige called Springsteen "Shakespeare set to music." Springsteen and the E. Street Band are virtuoso. Clarence played his tenor sax on par with Charlie Parker and John Coltrane. Springsteen's words dig deep. He is the great American poet of modern music. This is probably why he will never be a pop culture star. His music is not superficial. Most just cannot get it.

@JayGatsbyOdysseus Surprised me as well. You have a point tho' - he wasn't mainstream. Thought there'd be loads of comments. Then it was a friend who told me about him years ago, else I wouldn't have known. Saw him live at Wembley - phenomenal. Had 2 tickets, but couldn't find anyone to come with me, so ended up going with a stranger.
