They may not be as large as elephants, as stealthy as lions, or as colorful as kingfishers, yet I never tire of encounters with wild warthogs. It is really a great privilege to approach one of these fascinating creatures and observe it going about its daily business. Be prepared to snap a few shots if they try to flee; they point the tail straight up in the air as they disappear into the dense vegetation. Rwanda is most famous for its populations of rare mountain gorillas, but that doesn't mean that visitors can't also enjoy a classic, open-air African safari on the country's beautiful savannah habitat.
