Adriano

  • Meraviglioso ! For sure the "vecchio maestro" (Arturo Toscanini) would like it ! It is incredible but it seems that an italian Maestro understands better this oeuvre than others and the result is what you can see here. Horne, Pavarotti, Scotto and Ghiaurov in their best, young and fresh voices. Absolutely, excelent ! From Brazil, JAL

  • Wonderful !

    A lot of thanks

  • Please show me a better quartet of voices than these soloists in this performance. It simply does not exist. I had seen parts of this performance before & fell in love with it. Now IT'S MINE. HE HE HE.

  • @JAL845 Scotto ruins the performance, she was a disaster

  • Suberba esecuzione!!!! Bellisima...

  • @adriano19209 Concordo totalmente, complimenti!

  • Pavarotti is all OVER the place musically and comes in wrong and can't count for toffee - lovely voice of course but VERY surprised how out he gets

  • @model84 Thanks for helping to clear my misunderstanding. Always enjoyed hearing Nikolai Ghiaurov sing!! Truly one of the GREAT ones.

  • @Gary2837 Roma means that the concert took place in Rome. Nikolai Ghiaurov was one of the best bassos in the history.

  • Abbado, always great; Scotto, not impressed; Horne, magnificent as usual; Pavarotti, does not perform this beautiful Verdi to my liking ever (always seems stiff as well) Ghiaurov Roma, don't know of him but he was great in this production! Enjoyed he chorus. My opinion and I know I'll get many negative responses. That's okay, we all have our opinions.
