Watching CSI being broadcasted on TV in Niigata, Japan being streamed back to me in USA via a Slingbox. Someone in Japan opened up their Slingbox to whoever wants to watch it.
I'm not sure what the video standard is in Japan, but I'm guessing that it's different from the US. If so, you would need to get a SlingBox made for that standard.
Do you know where one (from Kansai region) could buy a Slingbox that will work in Japan?!? It's October 2008 and the Slingbox Japan website says "no longer in production" or "model no longer made"...my Japanese is poor. Slingbox Canada and US have no idea about their product in other countries so I'm shit outta luck in ordering one from Japan. If you have ANY idea where I can purchase one, I'd really appreciate it.
Actually, the Japanese TV standard is similar to the US standard (both are a variation of NTSC). Although the two countries' digital standards are different, they are both backwards compatible with NTSC.
Do I have to buy a Japanese slingbox to view japanese tv?
