@mclrk626 Probably whatever came on the guitar. He doesn't need special this or that to make a guitar sound like a million bucks. Just his hands. He does like a smaller, more contoured neck, but I've never heard him mention special pickups.

Jack is on a totally different planet/plane than Derek or Warren. He's forgotten more about theory and how to play than both of those guys put together know.
And I love both Warren and Derek. But to compare them to Jack as players? I mean, get serious.

Why is it always a competition? No Derek does NOT have Jack's vocalbulary with the Blues, let alone Jazz.
-
It's not a competition. Having a discussion about who is better is a waste of time. Some will prefer Derek...others will prefer Jack. The important thing is we're listening to good music. I really think that's what it's all about. (oh...I like Jack.) ;)

anyone know what pickups hes using in all three positions? please
-
He's probably too tasteful for younger players to appreciate.

Jack is about as great as one can be.

Sounds alot like Larry Carleton from 30 years ago!

wow ! what a wonderfull touch ... just beautiful playing !

@johnjohnson510 I don't believe he said that Derek's vocabulary was limited, but rather that Jack's vocabulary is vast. Derek will get there eventually, but Jack will always have twenty years on Derek.
Today I first discovered Jack Pearson. And I consider myself a "guitarhead". I obviously have a lot of catching up to do with this cat. I sense it will be quite enjoyable.

I know he is much older than Derek...but Derek can't play at his level yet...not that he won't...but Jack's jazz vocabulary is really vast.
