I went to this school (Lincoln Bassett in New Haven CT) back in the 80's, and believe me the guys leading the chant got paid behind the scenes. New Haven, CT is very CORRUPT, it's the home to Yale.

The overall message is okay ("Believe in yourself, you can do anything", etc...), but trying to force political beliefs on middle-schoolers is appalling. The moment he said "I am an Obama scholar" and forced the kids to repeat it is the moment that he crossed the line.
