The Economic Transformation Programme is a focused, inclusive and sustainable initiative that will transform Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020. It is driven by 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs): Oil, Gas and Energy; Palm Oil; Financial Services; Wholesale and Retail; Tourism; Business Services; Electrical and Electronics; Communications Content and Infrastructure; Healthcare; Education; Agriculture; and Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley.
131 entry point projects (EPPs) have been clearly outlined within these sectors to grow our economy. These Entry Point Projects (EPPs) within the National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs) will lead Malaysia towards achieving a high-income nation status with a per capita income of RM48,000 (USD15,000) and create more than 3.3 million new jobs by 2020, throughout the country.

@alaindavidevrard i think that is such a generalization. I am malay and I always excel in my studies even when i dun study s hard as my peers(whether malay, chinese n indian). When there is work, i will always finish it with the best of my abilities n using all the creativities that i have. All that malay ppl need to do is b confident of themselves. I hv sn so many genius programmers, scientist n they r malays. Confidence, encouragement and less stereotyping is the key:)

Somehow i saw some negativity on previous comments. i agree there are some policy (the major big2 one) need to be alter in order for ETP to reach its optimum operation level. Like merits vs racial bias, open tender vs closed tender. Im a malay chap but i for all push for merits & open tender. Policy came from political will. And politic is not economy but they related. Thus something need to be 'transformed' too in politics, any way could it be. Put politic aside, lets b positive bout this.

sadly it will not happen unless there is a concerted effort to educate the Bumi Putra to be hard working like the rest of the ethnic divides. Malay are nice people but sadly, most of them are very lazy or not working at all. Frankly they can be very inefficient at work and very incompetent.. this has to change now and there will be hope because the Malay are actually some of the nicest people in Asia.

UMNO is the obstacle, the shackle, the burden of Malaysia. Don't dazzle us with your sweet talk. Malaysians need to shed UMNO and its brand of self-serving politics to advance to the next stage. Anything short of this is just useless ranting.

Dato Idris Jala. Future leader. You should replace our heavily corrupted CM once the time had come. Sarawakian must have Salute & Proud of you!!!

ETP is doing well. Let's give them a try. PEMANDU was formed to study our current economic model, do something about it and to walk the talk.

@clementchew change does not materialise from thin air. Most Malaysians do not believe anything from the goverment especially the non bumis. I know that because I am a non bumi. The non bumis are more interested in milking Malaysia and hoping their kids do not suffer the same faith. Are these acronoyms are just hot air......it will crash before it can take off. That's not uncommon thing from Malaysia. That's what I can say. Oops are they going to charge me for sedition????

@talk2stop If you do not believe that change will happen then it never will. What can I say?
