Making of Back to the Future: The Ride

I found this video on some video archive site that is no longer online. (I'm glad I extracted this clip beforehand)

I've heard that an early version of the ride was being directed by Richard Edlund before he was later bought out by Douglas Trumbull's company.
I work in the VFX industry and I was on a Motion Control shoot where I met the camera operator for Edlund's version. So, I guess that rumor is true.

@NverEnoughDeathMetal They took the Back To The Future ride down because it was becoming less popular among park go-ers, so it's not their fault, really.

I would rather build a new ride than blindly hope it suddenly becomes popular again. They've got to make money, it's smart.

But alas, I miss that ride. Still, got the films, and it's soon to be 2015! Can't wait to get some self lacing shoes and a hover board!

@andrealovesclassics all the negative things universal studios has done, we can hold it all against them when they try to charge us more and more money for things or when they try to screw us over in some other ways. few bad things universal studios has done: 1. let the classic king kong tour house burn down. 2. destroyed the extra terrestrial ride. 3. destroyed the back to the future ride. anymore to add to the list, people?

Man...Thank you so much for posting this! I actually wished they had a behind the scenes of the ride on DVD since they were including the ride footage..But I'd be kinda mad if they did release it though, since I've just bought the latest DVD release of the movies on Blu-Ray and all that.... Harty-har-har!

It's not just you tk, this ride was absolutely amazing. Such much of the ride was hand made with pride and not just all rendered. Pleeeeeease bring it back, we all miss it so much
