Teachers spying on students through laptop webcams

Students of this school are being spied upon by teachers, including Assistant Principal Dan Ackerman. In another case Lower Merion School District spied on students even when they were at home. This is the risk every user of proprietary software has to accept. Switch to free software which doesn't have spying capabilities.

The issue came to light when the Robbins's child was disciplined for "improper behavior in his home" and the Vice Principal used a photo taken by the webcam as evidence. @Israephel I'm going to guess that you are a parent, or at least an adult, so I can see how from your POV, it's an effective program. However, even at school there are times when a break is needed. And he can access the entire computer. So even what they do at home, if they don't eliminate all traces of it, he can find it out, and that completely destroys any semblance of privacy. You people who say this is wrong. You are incorrect because it can get the teachers to keep them in line and send them a message to get to work. 7th grade is a time when some children look at online pornography. That is wrong and they should be punished for doing that AT SCHOOL. This is a great program and we had it at my old middle school. Online hurassing could also be monitored and dealt with. Great program. Keep up the good work.
