This was a cover of the Joni James recording for M-G-M Records done exactly a week before Elvis' session. The dub was played for Elvis and his version is very close to the original David Terry arrangement for Joni. Both versions are terrific though Joni just could not get the radio play she needed because the disc jockeys were always looking for dramatic ballads from her. Joni's flip side was the Hank Williams treasure "I'm Sorry For You, My Friend."
