I like halfords but I would never trust the people who work on the bikes. They just arn't trusted and are just idiots...

Nope! you have a duty of care, a duty of care if you are the MD or a lowly paid sales assistant. You are catering for people of all abilities (or lack of ability) you must have fluffed a gear change at some point yourself in your cycling "career" and got a bit of a wobble on, someone with not enough skill, natural balance or mechanical sympathy might not be able to deal with the problems that would arise.
It is indefensible and you sir are a fool. (which possibly, is why you work at Halfords)
-
@boltysan Course I'll defend that! A gear change on the front causes her to 'lose her balance.' Sounds plausible! I'm not defending the company, just the people that work here

is this the actual advert or edited

I bought a cheap cycle computer from Halfords and installed in myself.
It wouldn't work so i went back to ask for help.
They wouldn't look at it unless I paid a £4 set-up fee even though I'd already set it up.
So I said I would have to return it as faulty. They had to ensure it was faulty before i could get a refund. Turns out it needed some very minor tweaking... (for free, thankfully!)
To compete with cheaper stuff off e bay, they have to be more willing to offer help and support.

Was it just me or did it seem like she was screaming because her brakes never worked ?
How many stories have we all read of Halfords putting the forks on backwards, etc.?
