'04 Nissan 350Z vs. BMW Z4 3.0i E85

A stock 2004 Nissan 350z track model goes against a 2004 BMW Z4 3.0i with SMG transmission. The Z4 had an extra passenger.

@ SammyJammer LOL, how much more does and E92 cost, compared to a 350z, and how many more cylinders it have? ...yeah, that's what I thought!!

I've done extremely light mods to my 350z, an intake plenum spacer and a parabolic weled y-pipe after the cats, that's it, no ECU, no exhaust, nada, and E46's can't pull away from my $31,000 Z (price as bought new). E46 ~$48k new.

extra passager + SMG = it slows down. The 350Z might be a little faster, but it not as clear as it looks in this video. 0.8s difference in 0-160 is nothing

5 car lengths in 2 gears....I wouldn't call that competing! Z4 is significantly lighter than 350z as well. But as usual, BMW fans either deny defeat or make some excuse for every single video where a BMW is clearly not winning.

What part of this video gives you the idea this Z4 is holding it's own or "competing"? None because it's not!!

In the first start, Z had way too much wheel spin, then passed right by.

BTW, 231 hp from a 3.0L is lousy today. My old 1990 300zx (3.0) had 222 hp!
