Latinos become focus for US army recruitment - 10 Oct 07

The US military says it has met its recruitment goals for 2007. However, signing new soldiers is getting more difficult, with an unpopular war in Iraq and open-ended commitments both there and in Afghanistan.

New figures reveal there has been a 40 per cent drop in African-Americans signing up for the army. The Pentagon wants to expand the size of the army to 547,000 soldiers by the year 2010, and are counting on Hispanics to fill the gap. To do so, recruiters are turning to incentives to bolster their numbers. Mike Kirsch explores the sometimes questionable tactics being used to entice Latino recruits into the US army.

US Marines! Just got back and i really want to go back. I just don't feel normal and can't sleep. lost my self in a world of fear and terror. I do agree recruiters are full shit, especially with minorities, they get an extra bonus by signing minorities that score over 50. Remember, a recruiter is saleman trying sell Billets (jobs) that need to be filled.

It doesn't make sense, he thought by joining the Marines he wouldn't get deployed. That's what the Marines and Army are all about deploying and killing our enemies. Please don't join the service just because of the benefits. Service is about being patriotic not about free health care, free dental and free college.

Kids need to join the military mainly for the reason that they want to serve their country, and not for benefits. If you're joining purely for benefits, don't join at all.

U.S Military lie to young girls and boys by tell them if they will give you everything you want by go killing inocent children and womens but when you go there to serve the country and die there U.S is not gonna give shit about you or give shit about your family you left in the country.
