This is just a quick tutorial on how to use vector blur with a cycles rendered image.

As you all should know by now, cycles is the new render engine under development which should take over blender internal later on (long way away).

  • Very helpful. Thanks for making this. Any chance you could do a part two that would cover using this process for Cycles animations?

  • @falsetdotto this process also works for a rendered image sequence. Render your image sequence using cycles, and save them as .png files. Then, when you change back to blender internal, change the input node to "sequence" rather than "image". Set the start and end frames, and render once more.

  • @bnewton81 You need to turn up the amount of samples. More samples = less noise.

  • I don't understand why cycles is so wonderful. It always comes out grainy. I've seen crisp images, but I have no idea how they accomplish that.

  • Well done, thanks... A real problem with Cycles for motion blur ! :(

  • nice!
