i've trained in the arts of judo, jiujitsu, aikido aikikai, and boxing most effective on streets would be boxing one punch can end it : ) but when u get takin to the floor judo and jiujitsu would be best, and if u get the chance to use a good aikido lock is impossible to get out but i won't break someone's arm or leg thats not cool :P point is all martial arts have there strengths and weaknessis there is no best martial art only strong people. (and no i don't think i'm somekind of superhero) lol

@sehnsucht77 he did not lash out! The comentator didn't have a clue. That was a perfectly legal takedown. The fact that he caught him a couple of times a little bit too hard is incidental

thx for the clarification. either one is useful, yes, together, however, they complement the other.
i was looking at the clip again and man is that Bosnian a sore loser. Bad sparring form as well. Frustration is no excuse to lash out at an opponent if you lose to him as a result of subpar skill. I guess the man has no shame and no honor as a representative of his dojo.

@sehnsucht77 i know the diffrence, i meant in self defence, like karate is striking and judo is grapling, ( i know my spellin is shit ) what i meant to say was that ether one could stand up to a good fight, not that they are both the same, thats silly, they are both very diffrent.

if you dont know the difference, then you haven't really "done" and studied it.

(continued) I, and meany of the England team squad members have left tornements or made complants about exsesive contact, and refused to compeat. If im agaist an inexsprianced opponet, i make sure i win but i do not lay into them, i give them a chance and they are gratful for it, we all have to learn. But those of you who will happly abuse your skill. in tornaments you'll face somone like me. Who will compleatly out class you. If you intened to hurt people. people like me will hurt you.

hi everyone, i just wanted to add my thoughts to this list. Im a member of the England karate team and have represented englend for the last four years. You are taught to control techniques from a low grade. Not every oponent you may face, (esspesialy in opens) may be as exspiranced as you, its a sport, its suposed to be people of like minds coming together to compeat. Not to be beaten up!!!! your are martial artist for god sake. the most funermental rule is respect.!!!!!!!!

I won't ever disrespect anyone for practising a different style than I do, but to say Judo and Karate aren't 'much different' from one another is a bit far fetched, if you ask me.
Best regards,
6th Kyu Judo, 5th Kyu in Goju-Ryu.
