  • Great to hear Ken again I was around London in the 50's and have.. only just found him on You Tube

  • I can remember seeing Ken Colyer at his jazz club in the west end. On a hot summer night the walls were dripping and Ken was suitably "nourished" and played like you wouldn't believe.

Happy Days. thanks for the memory.

    best wishes

    Mike

  • @JuneBee55 Nancy and Bob had a daughter called Yancy they lived at Melton Mowbray leicestershire but I think they have both passed over now. Bob was a great pianist although you dont hear much about him.

  • Ken Colyer was the originator of the best English Skiffle and in his early days in the

Crane River Band played really exciting

music..I think never as good when he

    returned from United States...like most

from Blighty he tried too hard to play in a

new orleans style and lost his excitement.

  • Bob Kelly married Nancy Whiskey - she was famous for Freight Train, which was a massive hit in the late 1950s.
