Super Mario Bros. double speed run in HD

Spolier Alert!!!! On 12/9/10, Angel Chavez and Mark Stewart participated in the First Annual NES SMB DSR. Using two TV's and two NES's, we each tried to reach the princess first. The event lasted just under 20 minutes. The video is time lapsed although we slowed it during two crucial moments. We pressed start simultaneously. Angel, on the left, chose a fast strategy with no mushrooms. It worked well until right before he reached Bowser in world 8-4 when he hit a fireball on his last man. He had to restart. However, Mark was stuck repeating world 8-2 over and over again as he continued to fall in the same pit repeatedly. Angel almost caught up, but Mark defeated Bowser and reached the princess with Angel mere seconds behind him.
