Up to 3,000 Fretilin supporters party at rally in the football ground in the town of Liquica, Liquica district, which was held to support party president Francisco Lu'Olo Guterres' bid to become president of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. Liquica is an area where security for Fretilin members has always been a concern because of the presence of Railos and his group who were key players in the May 2006 crisis and who have been recommended for prosecution by the UN Report. During the rally and after the rally Fretilin members were stoned and threatened by people suspected of being connected with Railos and his group.
