Actually, I took another look and he's only in first, what i call first for a few notes then jumps to another position. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

I guess there is no one accepted way to play a piece of music. I was watching another performance of this piece and that person plays the first measure in first position then jumps up to C# on the G string for the second measure. This gentleman plays them both in first or what I call first position. I play mandolin, not violin, so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Excellent performance. Very expressive. I'm open to comments on the fingering.
