  • @saintfrancis299 Yes, next time they show a rescue they should at least have horses that need rescueing. Except for a few oldies they looke fine.

  • @texasarabian They had to put several down because they were too far gone. That might be one of the reasons you saw more that looked ok than needed help. Also, just because they looked ok doesn't mean they were; hooves and teeth were neglected, and many had never been handled or trained.

  • What a wonderful effort- god bless. It makes the world a better place to see people like you righting these wrongs and giving these beautiful animals a second chance.

  • @saintfrancis299 If the owner was so concerned, why wasn't a humane society or rescue group called in earlier -- say a year-and-a half earlier when the owner couldn't find homes for the horses? At any rate, he/she will have his/her day in court to show mitigating circumstances.

Also, if the rescue group messed up by feeding an old horse hay, then they messed up. That doesn't negate the need for the rescue of all the horses in any way. Please note they called a vet right away, too.

  • There are several innaccuracies in this report. This breeder had not bred any horses for two years and was trying to find homes for horses. The mare that 'choked' was fed hay by the rescue workers that she could not chew because because she was old and had smooth teeth. Don't believe everything you see.

  • Bless these people who are saving these poor horses from these awful people. Watching this broke my heart.

  • this made me cry

  • Omg I want one .

  • Its a big horse day w/ the Derby today but this small victory warms my heart more than any race. Thank you HSUS for making a true difference.

  • I see more that are okay than I do that need help. Is the sick mare skinny from being sick and old??? The young ones look fine, especially as they came out of the trailer...rescues do good sometimes then other times they over step!!! If they were so sick and starving believe me they would not be rolling in the grass...I saw other pictures and videos...they had grass at home.
