I look forward to seeing more short films from these guys.

I recently filmed in the Kibera slum for the Sumerian Foundation UK but from a visitor's perspective. The fact that this short film was filmed by Kibera's youth is testament to the prevailing positive attitudes of those in Kibera, which is underrepresented by the world's media. It's awesome to see such creativity blossom from this area, and to see the local talents that are being nurtured as a result.

well, you can reference the production of the fugitive
for trains and danger
this is more about Africa and its spatial development
8 is my favorite number Hot Sun Films, 8 videos for 2008

there have been people who died in SF Bay Area
as a result of not getting out of the way, so its a valid point
to bring awareness of the dangers of trains in low-income areas
but also beautiful shot of trains providing public service
trains have been the most powerful symbol of the beauty and tragedy of industry in Western thought and unmitigated aggression throughout the ages

Beautifully shot, as if it was done by the Lumiere Bros

I know a bit a about trains and video production. I know how editing can be used to create an illusion of danger. The trains give ample warning to trespassers to exit the track. That they choose to continue walking down the tracks is their choice. As mentioned the passenger trains provide a "cheap" method of transport (it appears "free" to me)
the issue is that people are so used to the train, that they seem to forget its there... this video was produced by the youth of Kibera, africa's largest slum. It was the first video they had ever produced of this kind.
