I added ailerons to my supercub. I used the junky servos out I had left over from my catalina RC plane(I didn't even use these servos in the catalina, I replaced them... don't know why I didn't just throw them out...). Anyways, groud tests were fine, ailerons worked. But in the air, with the pressure of the wind, one of the aileron servos instantly gets stuck in FULL RIGHT TURN. Throughout the beginning of the video, I am trying to turn left, but my plane mostly just wants to go straight - I was holding FULL left aileron for the beginning of the video. When I try to turn right with my ailerons it turns just fine! This is because one servo was stuck in 'right turn' position, so right turns were fine when the left aileron was also in 'right turn' position. But when I tried to turn left, they cancled eachother out and basically were just working as spoilerons. I have since replaced the servos with Park Zone SV80's and I will record my next maiden with it!

  • binding probably

  • Take Out the dihedral sir.

  • @rcplaneguy1 Planes with dihedral and ailerons can fly very well. There's no need to flatten out a perfectly good wing unless you want to do aerobatics, especially rolling maneuvers and those don't usually work with floats. Also the ailerons have to counteract the pendulum effect and the drag from the floats so the best thing is to kick in a little rudder (or mix it in with your transmitter) to get a smooth coordinated turn. Just my 2 dollars worth (inflation!).

  • Yeah those 5 dollar servos or a crash waiting to happen. Glad to see your got your plane down in safely!

  • maybe if you flattened ou the wing it would work better, the dihedral helps its turn with only rudder

  • @earthling1984 did you recieve my message on youtube about the coaxial heli?
