Each and every muscle car enthusiast has that one experience that has helped define the way in which they view the automobile. For Northern California's John Cross that experience came by way of riding in the back of his cousins 1970 440 6-Pack Plymouth 'Cuda when he was a kid. It was a car that provided him with memories, stories and of course, a goal - that being, to one day own the very car which got his engine running all those years ago. It's now 2012, 42 years after that first faithful ride in the very 'Cuda you're about to see. This time however it resides in John's garage, not his cousins, which can mean only one thing... Sometimes dreams do come true.

I fell inlove with Mopar back when I first saw Vanishing Point in 1971. I was around 4 or 5 years old then. That Challenger was one of the most beautiful cars I've seen. Then to drive Mopar more into my mind, my dad had 2 of them. At 16, when I got my license, I drove those 2 Mopars, I then knew I was a definate Mopar fan. Now, at 45, I own a 2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10 (5th Mopar in my life). I would love to get something like this Cuda though. Mopar all the way baby!!

U can still get some things for $1,000 or less. I just bought a 1971 Dodge Charger 500 for $600. Bought it from a guy who was selling 2; my 71 and a 73 SE. He still has more; a 70 Nova 350 and a 70 Torino, he wants $300-$400 for the Nova. Of course my car doesn't run but everything is there including the original engine, tranny, interior, glass, etc. it's a project but I'm definitely gonna have fun.

If I remember correctly, I fell in love with muscle cars more than ten years ago when I was playing Gran Turismo 2 and I had my first glimpse of a '70 Challenger.

    brb, drowning in nostalgias.

My fav memory from college; "Hotel Duluth" Duluth, MN 1980, after the wedding the bride groom and friend came out at 3am to get in their cars to leave., they was obviously drunk n happy.(of course). Me and my friend we're oogling their cars when they came out of the hotel Both cars we're a beautiful glossy black, both 1970, both had fat tires. A Cuda and a Charger. After talking to them for a minute or so we got them both to peel out at the corner. lots of blue smoke!! the good 'ole days
