The fiery trio slows things down a bit for the early Joplin rag "The Entertainer" (1902).

On the brown upright is Frederick Hodges. On the black upright in the middle is Tom Brier. On the grand is Patrick Aranda.

"3 Pianos on Fire" was a special set during the 11th annual Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival in Sutter Creek, California.

They really turned on the heat after this.

  • wow... if only this was Tom playing solo... Not to say that the other guys suck or anything, just I would really like to hear Tom Play this song solo. I bet you saw my other comment. =)

  • I don't think I've heard any of these guys play it solo. I'm sure they do (particularly Patrick, since he plays at Disneyland), but probably only upon request (which certainly is more than enough).

There is a video of Tom improvising a piano part for this along with the Rubber Chicken Flute Quartet. But it's accompaniment only, and slower for the sake of the flutes.

Also check out the version with Martin Spitznagel and Frederick Hodges (or the one of Martin with Andrew Barrett!).

  • simplemente wooooo¡¡¡¡¡¡

"se oye tan bien la armonia que es casi melodico..."

nunca habia oido un arreglo para 3 pianos de esta obra maestra...

yo me la se a 1 piano, pero a 3 pianos la cancion es "huerfanita" (porque no tiene madre).

5 estrellas, solo puedo desir eso.

    mis respetos....

  • wow this is awesome!
