Shortly after midnight on 21 September 2011 all the remaining analogue television services in Yorkshire were turned off for good at the Emley Moor transmitter. I know it's pretty amateur, but here you can see the exact time each channel went off. Each TV set is tuned to (clockwise from bottom left) Channel 4 (C41), Channel 5 (C37), BBC1 (C44) and ITV1 (C51). ITV1 was actually on C47 until 7 September 2011 when BBC2 analogue was turned off and ITV1 moved onto its old frequency. The clock is exactly BST.

  • I had hoped to do something like this as well, but we just threw out a lot of our old analog-only CRT sets the week before. I wasn't going to heft around the huge plasma TVs just for this... so I made do with recording the switch off on two VCRs and two DVD recorders :)

  • I was planning to do one of these, but because I used really old TV sets (1960s & 70s), a few of them needed adjustment, so, after setting them up, I missed C4 & C5 going off >:(
