@emb1st i guess it depends on what part of the country you live in......many parts of the usa are pretty cold from november through april and even may so 6 months of the year "driving barefoot" would not be a good idea.

all that futuramic stuff: no one thought of seat belts to keep from flying through that
GLASS windshield. Arm rests and a starter on the floor which hurt to use when barefooted.......................
