You definitely need a bigger flag, and prop some guns up too. Where is the 5 kilowatt home made amplifier at? You know, the kind that splatter 40 channels up or down from whatever channel you're on.

what kind of antenna are you using? i use to use a Solarcon Imax 2000 until i found out that a 102" whip has about the same amount of gain.

I have always used a hand held D 104 on my 2995 and it works great with these radios. A table top D104 works but it picks up the fan noise really bad.

10.4 i have stock mike and a new galaxy mike with echo and rodger beep .
