Wonder Boy in Monster Land / Wonder Boy II (Sega Master System) - Stages 11-12

The final stage is a large maze and every time you go the wrong way you go back a couple of screens. If you do the side quest you eventually get the choice between a bell and a ruby. The bell will ring if you go the right way. So you need that to figure out the last level. After that you can take the ruby which significantly lowers the health of the dragon's first form. That doesn't make it much easier since his first form isn't hard, but it's a matter of time which costs health.

you missed the hidden shield shop on the castle wall at the end of stage 11, just right of the guardian door... This way you missed the Legendary Shield :(

how is a child supposed to master the maze? I had nightmares in the past about that part of the game.

@MysterioBerlin lol no kidding. some parts of this game are really hard. the last boss is no joke either. :-/ but kids have lots of time on their hand. it's certainly doable

so do you actually need the bell to beat the game, or could you beat it by trial and error / memorizing the way?

@Kiggythepooh realistically you can't beat the game without the bell. as you can see there are a lot of ways you could go and sometimes you don't see if it's the correct way because some screens just repeat once or twice until you actually advance. like, where you drop, go right, same screen, drop and go right again. that's just too many combinations of ways to go and time is running...

Wow great job, this game is tough as nails. I managed to reach the castle once but got completely lost in there. Seems like it's almost impossible to figure out all the secrets and beat the game all by yourself.

My brothers and I were never able to beat this game as kids....always got stuck on jumping up those platforms in the maze! And now I see that was only halfway through the darn thing!! Yikes! Thanks for the video!
