  • I had the oportunity to see him several weeks ago and I didn't go. And now satan owns my soul.

  • @JMarshallBeckham0952 Right On Dude! I'm an old timer myself, and I think KWS is an old soul. Reminds me a lot of Rory Gallagher.

  • @Tommit9 Indeed, and Cory Sterling ain't no Noah Hunt. (: Noah sings it his own way and, considering it was written for another singer in a key that doesn't really suit his voice he makes a pretty good fist of it in my opinion.

  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd is great and he is getting better like vintage wine the older he gets! Believe me as I am 59 years old, and extremely moved by his style of blues, power, and rock!

  • That singer AINT NO CORY STERLING!!

  • @StreetEllis Kenny is a music student? Everything I've ever read about him says he was self-taught. And that what he taught himself was the blues. Stevie was completely awesome, but trying to bad-mouth KWS isn't going to bring Stevie back to life. If he wanted to sound like SRV, he could have started a cover band. Instead, he has his own band and writes some damn good songs. Deja Voodoo, for example, was one he wrote & sounds nothing like a SRV song.

  • @StreetEllis Don't wanna be rude, and I agree with you that they don't sound the same, but SRV is KWS's biggets influence, so I just mean that it's why he sound like he is trying to be like SRV, which he don't try to =)

  • @grainin93 Although I respect your opinion, I do not, however, agree with it. Kenny Shephard and Stevie Ray Vaughn sound NOTHING like each other, as I have had the pleasure of witnessing BOTH live!

Another big difference: Kenny-music student/Stevie - self-taught! Kenny "learned" the blues/Stevie was surrounded by it! To summarize, an actor can "portray" a person, an emotion, a response, but it takes someone who lives and breathes that emotion, that feeling, that response to REVEAL it!

  • @StreetEllis Well...the difference between KWS and other kids at home is that he actually got a record deal and had some hits at they're age....and all guitarists are different, no one sounds the same, KWS and SRV is pretty much alike, by influence....

  • KWS just wishes he could play that guitar like Stevie!

Hell, check out Elijah Everhart's version of this song on his Facebook page. He makes Kenny look like a first year music student! Sure Kenny can play, but so can any kid with a guitar and a few years of lessons. Just check our Youtube, because there are guitarist that play like Kenny EVERYWHERE, but there aren't ANY THAT PLAY LIKE STEVIE RAY VAUGHN. Nice try though Kenny!
