these are the few things that i have done to the truck so far.
i forgot to mention that i also changed the plugs and wires, also the cap and rotor. they were in bad shape and so that could have come into play with the gain in hp.

  • is that a 3inch single with no cat??

  • @s10kid100 yes. and a magnaflow muffler, a long one. i am not sure of the model.

  • His ar-cleaner lid flip is a good theory but the actual intake manifold is stil restictive.

even it it did pull more air, the intke mani will be a kid choking on a 2liter bottle of soda (bottoms up)

Edelbrock has a TBI manifold with EGR #3704. if you want more air, start with more serious changes. Bore the edelbrock flange ports out to 46mm-50mm and get a bigger TBI unit, 650CFM sounds right

then chang to bigger heads (Vortec) and then a camshaft swap. Finally a burned chip.

  • @MrAss707 i would like to do those changes and i have read about them, looked into those parts and all, but the truck is not worth it.

  • Yawn . . . why are we looking at a fucking air filter, with drivel, for 4 minutes?

  • @weeeendog your choice.

  • did you have any problem with the throttle body spacer and the hood clearence with the stock intake

  • What did u do to the hose that was connected to that thing u took off?

  • @YamahaATVMudder You need to change your O2 sensor. I have an '89 350 and it burned rich at idle and made my eyes water. The O2 sensor change fixed it. Now it smells like regular exhaust. Changing the injectors can't hurt as they're only like 80$ a piece and they do recommend to change them every 1000 000km or so if I'm not mistaking. It's a fairly easy process too. Peace!

  • @YamahaATVMudder have no idea. sorry

  • @YamahaATVMudder with all the mods i am averaging about 22-23mpg on the highway.

  • The lid flip is just sucking hot air...no real prupose other than making intake whistle...I've ran an open element on mine, and it made noise...and nothing else...the motor has 173000 and going back to the stock filter housing didn't feel as if it restricted anything and gave more reliable cold starts...the snorkel is actually pulling cold air from the fender...which is better and more dense than hot thin engine air...tbi's don't get much gains anyway

  • and do you get better gas with the spacer or just more power?
