Read the work of Marshall McLuhan, and in particular The Medium is the Massage. The title was meant to be the Medium is the Message, but the printing press made an error and McLuhan liked the result better and left it like that. For a long time the book was unavailable, but now you can get it again, under the title The Medium is the Message.
