Phillip Sear: Christmas Fantasies - 2 ( The First Nowell )

I like to upload one or two seasonal items in December, but this year had nothing written by others in practice, owing to accompanying commitments. So here is the second of a series of five fantasies on well-known Christmas carols and hymns. The tune to this British carol is of Cornish origin, and it is notable amongst carols for its repetition of limited melodic material - the tune has a constant up-and- down hill feel to it.

Some of Hisaishi's sentimental music is similar to the piece on which you base this fantasy. Especially Reprise from Spirited Away.
