In 1945 there were up to one million Jews living in the Middle East and North Africa outside the Palestine Mandate - many living in ... all » communities dating back more than three millennia. Today, there are only several thousand remaining.

Who are these Jews? What precipitated their mass-exodus in the 20th century? Where did they go? And why do we always hear about the Palestinian refugees, but didn't even know these Jewish refugees existed?

  • in the early 1920's and before most ashkanazi jews in prestate israel were not zionists and most zionists didnt seek a independant jewish state. it was not untill after a string of anti jewish violence(jerusalem riots 1921 just 1 example) that zionism became prominant angroups like igrun became significant. from my perspective zionism was a reaction to arab terrorism.

  • Dear Iraq, because of these 9 Jews you murdered God has Murdered Millions of Iraqis and has destroyed your entire country. You will never be a country again. You are cursed like Pharaoh

  • Please, 9 jews?

  • @zobielamouche1 Treatment by who? The government? Over half of the parliament members are of non-Ashkenazi ethnicity.

  • to no surprise their treatment as second class citizens in israel (above the palestinians, below the ashkenazis) is concealed

  • @treyLung - many things were a reaction to Muslim terrorism....the Crusades, the war against the Barbary Pirates and colonialism in general....even Columbus went to the New World because the Turks closed the Silk Road to Europe. Muslim history is one of attack, get beaten then blame the people they declared war on.

  • time for updating.... the parts with Moshe Katsav are unnecessary....

  • @treyLung Dudes like me blame the jews? That's a nice way of calling me an antisemite. Do I blame the jews? No, I understand that zionism was a european settler colonial enterprise in the middle east, which displaced 750,000 people, and these people are still refugees today, being denied their human rights, languishing in prison camps like gaza and being walled off in the west bank. That is not the fault of the jews, it is the fault of the zionist militias, and their political descendents.

  • @n8glenn yes i never said there wasnt, i dont think thats ok but any animosity between the two groups should be veiwed through the context of the conflict and the history behind it. thats what this video is doing providing context but whenever any gives any history or information which contradicts the old anti-zionist fable of european zionist conquistadors vs. masses of poor unarmed arab civilians a bunch dudes like you allways try to down play it or blame the jews.
