Mac users are not encouraged to take this attitude towards malware now that malware authors are drawing there attention towards Macs (as Macs now consist of 8% of the current PC market).

For example, the first trojan for Macs (a variant of 'trojan.zlob') was released into the wild recently as well as a large number of venerabilities in 'OSX' being uncovered.

If you get a malware attack on your pc that won't allow you to open any browser windows or domument files and demands money to fix the problem, try this: Hold down the power button to cause a forced shut down of the system, then start it up again and select "safe mode." While in safe mode get into the system restore and select a "restore point" somewhere in time before the malware attack occurred. In most cases this will get rid of the problem, at least temp. Then run a good anti-malware program
